Why the platforms differ
Professional platforms (LinkedIn, X-for-work, Threads) peak in workday windows because users check them at-work.
Entertainment platforms (TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest) peak before/after work and weekends.
Hybrid platforms (Instagram, Facebook) peak mid-workday lunch — the "take a break" moment.
Community platforms (Reddit) have inverted weekly curves — they peak on weekends when casual users have time to read long threads.
Caveats (important)
- Your audience's timezone matters more than these averages. If your audience is all in Singapore, LinkedIn peaks at 18:00 UTC (10am SGT), not 10:00 UTC.
- Your own analytics always beat aggregate benchmarks. After 30 posts, switch to your own data.
- Posting consistency > posting at peak. A Tuesday 10am post twice a week beats a Tuesday 10am post once a month.
- Algorithms shift quarterly. These are 2026-Q2 numbers.
blog-inline · reservedThe 80/20 rule
If you only remember two facts:
- Tuesday–Thursday mornings (10am local) is the universally safe window for professional content.
- Weekend mornings is the universally safe window for entertainment content.
Everything else is fine-tuning.
